86kg Saved from Landfill — and Yes, There Were Sausages 🌭

What would it be without a Repair Fair sausage?

Saturday’s Repair Fair at the Flinders Arts and Entertainment Centre brought the community together for a couple of hours of fixing, sharing skills, learning from each other… and, of course, a sausage or two.

And the result? 86kg of items saved from landfill.

Clothing was stitched and patched, wobbly wooden things were made less wobbly, IT problems were tackled, garden tools were given some attention, and plenty of useful knowledge was shared along the way.

That’s really what the Repair Fair is all about. It’s not just about fixing stuff… it’s about bringing people together and sharing the skills that already exist in our community.

A huge thank you to our volunteer fixers for giving their time and knowledge, and to everyone who brought something along, stopped for a chat or came to see what it was all about.

Next stop: November!

We’re planning the next Repair Fair for the Whitemark Showgrounds, alongside the Garage Sale Trail and Too Good to Tip - a great fit for a day all about repairing, reusing and keeping good stuff in circulation.

So start putting aside those things that need a little love.

And yes… there’ll be sausages. 🌭💜
