Upcoming Council Election

As a community organisation, the Furneaux Collective values the important role Flinders Council plays in supporting our islands and recognises the responsibility that comes with making decisions on behalf of a diverse community.

With a new Council soon to be elected, we have emailed all candidates the below four questions - about how they see our future and the role we can all play in shaping it.

1. What does a flourishing Furneaux Islands community look like to you - and what role does Council play in helping create it?

2. With many competing priorities, how would you decide what matters most for the Furneaux Islands community?

3. What becomes possible when Council and community organisations work well together?

4. As a candidate for Flinders Island, do you support further reducing your Council to five members?

All candidates are being given the same opportunity to participate, and responses will be published here as provided.

The Furneaux Collective looks forward to continuing to work with Flinders Council, our community and local organisations to turn good ideas into action and help create a vibrant future for our islands.
