We signed the lease! 💜

3 Bowman Street, Whitemark is officially the new home of The Collective.

We have a guiding plan. We have the Islander Way Framework and The Collective Roadmap is in progress. And now we have a place where we can start bringing more of it to life.

The Collective will give us somewhere to work from, but more importantly, somewhere to try things - projects, programs, workshops, collaboration, local enterprise.

It isn’t intended to replace or duplicate the other spaces already serving the Island. It’s another place where ideas can be tested, partnerships can grow and people can share skills or get involved.

The funding behind this work is an investment in the Flinders Island community. Our job is to make that investment work - our vision is to create more opportunities, attract partnerships and help turn ideas into practical activity for our community.

But right now, it means paintbrushes, making things, fixing things and getting the space ready.

We don’t expect it to arrive fully formed. We’ll try things, see what people use, learn from it and let the space evolve.

There’s plenty more to share, but for now, here’s to the next chapter.
